Set A Goal: I was a kind of person who would not drink more than 2 glasses of water a day but when I got into a healthy lifestyle there were some changes needed to be made and my first priority and goal was to drink 8-10 glasses of water each day. It has been 3 months and I m continuing with it. I set a goal that by the end of the year 2016 I will get into a habit of drinking more water and I feel so healthy and happy now as I m getting more closer to my goal.
Start And End Your Day With it: Make it a habit of drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up and when you are about to fall asleep. If will keep your body hydrated and help you start and end your day perfectly. I drink a glass of water soon after I wake up and have a cup of green tea before my sleep.
Water as Appetizer: This has become a habit of mine, to be frank. I drink at least 3 glasses of water before my meals, this way I tend to eat less. 1 hour later of every meal I carry on with my water routine. Never drink too much water just after your meals.(I like room temperature water)
Add Your Own Flavour To IT: I know drinking water can be pretty boring as it’s tasteless but instead of using flavoring agents you see in stores go natural–Add chunks of watermelon, mint leaves, cucumber, lemon, and oranges anything you like to it. I personally love adding slices of cucumber and lemon to my water. God, i can’t even tell how good it tastes. I keep on refilling my mason jar(when it gets over) for two days and after that I change the veggies. I have realized that whenever I drink plain water instead DETOX WATER I consume less amount of water in a day as comparatively. I would suggest you add your favorites to water to consume it more. As its fall already you need not require fridge just fill in your bottle and you’re good to go.
Eat Water: This may sound little crazy but it’s actually true you can even EAT water. You can technically stay hydrated with water-rich fruits and veggies like celery, watermelon, cucumber, citrus fruits, tomatoes, cauliflower, spinach, pears, pomegranates etc.
Green Tea: I had one more goal related to drinking water and it was to consume 3 glasses of green a day and I m still on 2 cups but I m happy with my efforts and progress. I feel it’s a great way to drink more water. Hot water feels good on chilly fall days and adding a gentle tea flavor(Your Choice)to it would be all you need. I drink green tea during the evening and before my sleep so in total I have 10 glasses of water + 2 cups of green tea each day. It has become a habit of mine to have a green tea before bed. It feels so good to get a good night sleep. Studies have shown that a cup of green tea has many advantages.(Google IT)
Eat Spicy: You can also trick yourself into drinking more water by adding a little spice to your food. This way you will eat less and drink more. I bet you will be reaching for a glass of water in no time.
Keep It Close: if you’re staying at home or working all day at your desk(At office) or traveling for hours make “I will keep my water bottle close to me” as your priority. Keep a big water bottle at your desk or in your bag so that you have no excuses. I work from home and do carry my detox water mason jar with me wherever I go. I do keep a filled water bottle close to my bed so whenever I run out of the water I fill my mason jar again this way I don’t have to run down to the kitchen again and again.
Be Prepared During Workout: At home or gym, dont forget to bring your water with you. Carry detox or plain water whatever you wish with you. If you start your workout without a water bottle you are not going to pause your session to get a drink. During my workout, i keep my detox water close to me so that I can have a sip every other minute.
Use Your Phone: If you still find it hard to drink water download an APP it’s totally up to you. There are so many App available over the internet choose your favorite if you’re in need of one. I don’t use an App but I do set few alerts on my phone throughout the day as a reminder. You can also mark down time using a marker on your bottles during which you want to drink water.( it will act as a good reminder)
